The Revolution of Threads Marks the End of Twitter’s Reign.
The present world is a world of competitors where every business person wants to cross competitors and crush their business. This may be a solo flight act where everyone wants to rule over others.
As the world has become a Global Village and in this village, social media has played a role of a communication tower, connecting people across the seas and oceans.
A few years back, the world was under a severe pandemic that limited people’s physical interaction. The physical interaction was subjected to health disorders and was almost near to none. This was the Era of Corona Virus, famously known as COVID-19 arising from China and shutting the doors worldwide.
Naturally, the love of beloved ones is more potent than any hurdle or restriction, and people can only bear limitations to an extent, after which the love knocks so forcefully that conditions never remain intact.
With the rise of social media connections, the knock of love has lost its force. In simple words, social media has fulfilled the need for physical interaction by providing people across the globe with different ways to stay in touch with each other via various platforms, and Twitter is one of them.
Twitter With No Rivals
Twitter has undoubtedly been the apple of the eye for many years. Still, during COVID-19, the popularity of Twitter has risen highly, and this popularity later on tempted Twitter’s owner Elon Musk, to get some financial benefits by charging a fee for various features named paid features but were free somewhere in the past.
Till now, it was believed that in the field of social media communication, the competitor of Twitter has yet to be born. Twitter was enjoying this solo flight without any hurdles and was the only platform where people used to express their feelings in their own words.
Twitter Making Use Of People’s Neccessitation
Business rivals always look for opportunities to make a unique stand out in their corresponding fields. When someone finds no rivals or competitors, it is reasonably expected that they may try to earn some extra benefits, as Twitter did. As Twitter had no competitor and people were bound to use this platform, Elon Musk attempted to cash out this weakness of users. This is when the rival businessman changes the game by launching the same application offering its services free of cost. The same game was played by Mark Zuckerberg (the owner of Metta Group).
On the ground of technology, Zuckerberg and Musk are exchanging harsh words with each other. Musk claimed that Threads is just a lousy try to copy Twitter. There is no doubt that Threads is just a counter app for Twitter, but how this counter app will damage Twitter is one of the most asked questions of today’s world.
Distinctions Of Twitter
Twitter is the primary source of interactions for Global Leaders and also one of the origins from where news is generated. Mean to say, anything before appearing on print media or television appears on Twitter as it is the source of significant information around the globe.
Twitter Under Crisis
When Elon Musk took control of Twitter, he came up with a thinking to revolutionize this platform by adding essential features and classifying these features between paid and unpaid users. Before Musk’s amendment, Twitter was the same for everyone, without any discrimination, but Musk’s Era developed a sense of something we can critically call Racism.
Musk launched features like Paid Ticks, limitations for unpaid account holders to read only one thousand tweets while paid users can read more than ten thousand tweets. So, all such amendments from Musk were not appreciated by the users, and this severely impacted Twitter’s reputation as everyone claimed that the charm Twitter had before was no longer available due to various ridiculous acts from Musk.
Any business runs on customer satisfaction, and in short, Twitter was not running according to customer demand, which led to the development of space for rivals to invest and launch any other app that could compete with Twitter. Metta Group beautifully utilized this space and tried to fill it by launching Threads.
Why Has Musk Taken Such Bold Amendment Steps?
Data Scrapping is importing data from any site or application using techniques that may help the various Artificial Intelligence companies generate an automated test that sounds like a human.
Musk has given a statement in which he declared the AI companies responsible for restrictions like the limited text on Twitter, as AI companies try to scrap this text and use it for their benefit. Musk claims that such limitations of writing a text on Twitter will also limit AI companies’ chances to gather human-generated text data. This also has shaken the AI industry to rethink how it collects data and will impact AI to some extent.
Musk’s Mindset
Musk is a risk taker with an open, blunt mindset and has less experience managing technology companies. He is experimenting without caring how this will impact the customer’s performance because he has nothing to do with this.
The invention of AI will lessen the human hold in the work field, and this step from Musk might be considered a good step towards limiting AI in its journey of replacing man. Still, the problem here is that the ordinary user of Twitter needs to be made aware of technical terms like Data Scrapping and other related things. So, Musk must take everyday users into confidence by explaining or justifying his steps to them. Musk cannot do that because it is not among his priorities.
Mark Zuckerburg’s Theory
History reveals that Zuckerburg has copied every famous app and has given a great dept to prominent companies by launching competitor apps. The invention of Instagram reels was a way to tackle Youtube Shorts. Instagram itself is an anti-Snapchat app. The Youtube Monetization Policy was also copied by Zuckerburg, after which people can earn from Facebook Monetization. This reveals Zuckerburg’s cleverness and leads to his trolling by calling him a copycat.
First Look Of Threads
The Threads appear on the social media map, and its first look was fascinating as it reminds us of Twitter before Musk’s amendment. The Thread has just started, and it needs some time to reach a level where Twitter can be damaged severely. Presently, the option of trending topics is not present in Threads, and also, the desktop or web version of Threads is still under process, which means we can only use Threads on our mobile phones.
Metta Group has integrated Threads with Instagram, which will help in standing out Threads by following all the people on Instagram on Threads as well. This led to Zuckerburg’s claim that seven million people started using Threads on the first day of launch. This claim is genuinely valid because Instagram has about 2.5 Billion followers, and for seven million people to join Threads is not a big task to do so.
The conclusion is that Elon Musk is working on some projects that may benefit humanity, like space projects, solar cars, and Artificial Intelligence, but this might be tough for him to compete with Zuckerburg, who has been working or manipulating the technology field for years.
Let’s see how Threads rises in the future.
